Big Grin for MTI

1350 sterndrive production continues with the second pair of engine packages. These are on their way to Marine Technology, Inc., (MTI)  in Wentzville, MO.

A stylish MTI logo adorns the carbon fiber front cover.

I spoke to MTI President/Owner Randy Scism this morning (Oct 6) to let him know the engines have “left the building” and to get some details on MTI’s first install of the new Mercury Racing 1350 engine packages.

As first published in Matt Trulio’s September 21 post on speedonthewater.com blog, the engines are going into a 48-foot Race/Pleasure catamaran owned by Bob Bull. Randy and Bob plan to debut the boat at the Ft. Lauderdale Internatonal Boat Show, Oct, 28-Nov 1.   The boat will then be on static display in the race pits at the 30th Annual Key West Offshore World Championships, Nov.  7-14.

Mercury Racing President Fred Kiekhaefer has added a personal touch to both the Cigarette Racing and MTI 1350s – an autographed message of encouragement for the lucky owners of the baddest sterndrives on the sea.
