HOW TO TRANSFER LIMITED WARRANTY AND MERCURY PRODUCT PROTECTION

Mercury Limited Warranty

The Mercury Limited Warranty is transferable to a subsequent purchaser, but only for the remainder of the unused portion of the Mercury Marine Limited Warranty. The Mercury Limited Warranty cannot be transferred on products used for commercial applications.

To transfer the Mercury Limited Warranty to the subsequent owner, mail or fax a copy of the bill of sale or purchase agreement and the new owner’s name, address and engine serial number to the Mercury Marine Warranty Registration Department.

Upon processing the transfer of the warranty registration, Mercury Marine will record the new owner’s information. There is no charge for this service.

Mercury Limited Warranty Transfer Requirements:

Mercury Product Protection is fully transferable to subsequent recreational-use owners, typically increasing product value at resale or trade. Our Gold and Platinum contracts are transferable to a subsequent recreational use purchaser within 30 business days from the date of sale. Engines not purchased directly from another pleasure use owner or from an authorized Mercury or MotorGuide dealer are ineligible for coverage.

NOTE: Mercury has the right to refuse the transfer of Engines/Trolling motors purchased as repossessed product, or product purchased at auction, from a salvage yard, from a liquidator, from an insurance company, from unauthorized marine dealers or boat builders, or other third-party entities. Mercury may request an inspection of the product from an Authorized Mercury Dealer to determine condition and performance prior to transferring any remaining warranty. The customer is responsible for the cost of the inspection.
