Apprenticeship Program 


Mercury Marine® offers apprenticeships for a variety of skilled trades. Military veterans are welcome and encouraged to apply and can use GI Benefits. An apprenticeship is a system of training designed to prepare individuals for skilled occupations, and consisting of a combination of on-the-job training with experienced journey workers and paid related classroom instruction. When an apprentice has completed the specified number of hours of apprenticeship training, he/she becomes a certified skilled worker. An apprentice must sign an agreement with the Bureau of Apprenticeship Standards, Department of Workforce Development through the State of Wisconsin to be accepted into the program.

Apprentices are selected and their performance is reviewed by the Apprenticeship Committee, composed of company representatives and union representatives. The types of apprenticeships offered by Mercury Marine and covered under the collective bargaining agreement include:

  • Tool Maker
  • Maintenance Mechanic
  • Maintenance Electrician
  • Die Maintenance Technician
  • Industrial Painter
  • Furnace Maintenance Mechanic
  • Tool & Cutter Grinder
  • Mechanic Specialist
  • Display Carpenter
